Shreyas Iyer dons translator role, steals the show while helping Axar Patel

Delhi Capitals are currently placed on top of this season’s points table. they’re the sole team who lost just one occasion in their five games. Iyer hilariously took the credit, adding that Axar Patel wants to thank his skipper when the person of the match Axar Patel didn’t really say it within the first place at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Axar Patel was the most economical bowler for Delhi Capitals. He picked two wickets to his name as he removed the likes of two dangerous batsmen – Aaron Finch and Moeen Ali. Axar Patel gave away only 18 runs in four overs at an economy rate of 4.50.

“I knew it was stopping on the wicket. I knew I would bowl in the powerplay and I had practised for it as well. I think I executed my plans really well. I wanted to bowl at the stumps and vary the pace. In the powerplay, I was in a mood to defend at first, but when the third ball spun I changed gears and got into an attack mode,” Axar said at the post-match.

Shreyas Iyer was absolutely delighted together with his team’s performance. “Getting four out of 5 , i will be able to take that any day. Kudos to the boys and therefore the temperament is shown in pressure situations. Our strategy was to be fearless and play with full freedom. we’ve got good youngsters in our side, so we just got to leave and execute our talent and skills. i’m very proud of the way things are going thus far , and that we got to continue the momentum,” Iyer signed off.
